Batmobile Pursues The Joker and Harley Quinn on the Set of ‘Suicide Squad’

As scenes from the ‘Suicide Squad’ film continue to be shot on Yonge Street in Downtown Toronto, the infamous Batmobile made an appearance. The production team made attempts to keep the Batmobile under wraps, but in an age of smartphones and electronic media that clearly was near to improbable. From the videos captured, the film already looks like it has tremendous potential. I guess we’ll have to wait to see if the Batmobile lost a wheel and whether or not the Joker got away (Hey!). Ben Affleck, who plays both Bruce Wayne and Batman in next year’s superhero film, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, was reported to be nowhere on set last night.

It’s a new age and DC Comics has recognised the importance of connecting each superhero film where practical. There’s nothing the fanboys and fangirls love and enjoy more than a solid comic book crossover. Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), for example, has raked in approximately $8.3 billion (since 2007) at the global box office and have mastered the art of creating successful crossovers. There’s nothing wrong with holding the title of highest-grossing film franchise of all time.

The Suicide Squad, also known as Task Force X, is a name for two fictional organizations in the DC Comics Universe. The upcoming anti-hero film is directed and written by David Ayer, and stars an ensemble cast featuring Jared Leto (The Joker), Will Smith (Floyd Lawton/Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller).×820.jpg

Filming began on April 13, 2015 in Toronto, Ontario and is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2016. Next year, I’ll be at the movies with popcorn in hand!
