Justice League Trailer is Finally Here

After an onslaught of teaser trailers over the last few days, Warner Bros. finally debuts the trailer (video below) to their upcoming sequel to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League. The next installment introduces most of the original members of the Justice League like Cyborg, The Flash and Aquaman.

Just to bring you up to speed on what to anticipate, here’s the official film synopsis:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.  Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat.  But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League stars Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman), Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne/Batman), and Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Jason Mamoa (Arthur Curry/Aquaman), Ray Fisher (Victor Stone/Cyborg), and Ezra Miller (Barry Allen/The Flash) with Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Willem Dafoe (Nuidis Vulko), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth), and J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon).

The film directed by Zack Snyder is scheduled to be released in theatres on November 17, 2017.

Justice League Teaser Trailer Debuts at San Diego Comic-Con

Riding on the hype machine of the Wonder Woman trailer release (click to watch), Warner Bros. Pictures just released the teaser trailer for their upcoming Justice League film!

Holy vibrant colours, Batman!! They’ve finally gotten it right on the cinematography and the dialogue sounds a lot lighter than Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Thank goodness! You’re learning DC Comics. You’re learning.

The stars Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman), Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne/Batman), and Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Jason Mamoa (Arthur Curry/Aquaman), Ray Fisher (Victor Stone/Cyborg), and Ezra Miller (Barry Allen/The Flash) with Willem Dafoe (Nuidis Vulko), and J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon).

The film directed by Zack Snyder is scheduled to be released in theatres on November 17, 2017.

Justice League Synopsis and New Logo Revealed for Upcoming Warner Bros. Film

Warner Bros. has announced that filming has began on its upcoming sequel to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League unveiling the logo in the process (less than impressive). The next installment builds on the previous and introduces most of the original members of the Justice League like The Flash and Aquaman.

Like you, I had high hopes for the last film, but it ended up being too depressing and too messy of an edit, having earned a 27% overall review on Rotten Tomatoes. Somehow it still ended up grossing $873 million at the worldwide box office, despite word of mouth of how bad it was to audiences. We can only hope that Snyder gets the ingredients right on this film.

Darkseid
The character was created by writer-artist Jack Kirby and first appears in Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #134

Here’s the official film synopsis:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.  Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat.  But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

This time, my movie villain prediction would be an appearance by Darkseid (pronounced “Darkside”), one of the most powerful beings in the DC universe. However, some other sites are indicating that the main villain will be Steppenwolf. With Director Zack Snyder you just never know what you’ll end up getting.

Steppenwolf
Steppenwolf is the uncle of Darkseid and leader of the military of Apokolips

Justice League stars Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman), Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne/Batman), and Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Jason Mamoa (Arthur Curry/Aquaman), Ray Fisher (Victor Stone/Cyborg), and Ezra Miller (Barry Allen/The Flash) with Willem Dafoe in a mystery role and J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon).

The film directed by Zack Snyder is scheduled to be released in theatres on November 17, 2017.

Immerse Yourself into the DC Universe with the Official Final Trailer for Batman V Superman

It’s the moment we’ve all been patiently waiting for…or at least the moment I’ve patiently waited for. The final official trailer is here and it looks EPIC!

Batman v Superman 2016_IMAX
Brace yourself for the IMAX experience

After a year worth of insane marketing (not as good as the marketing of Deadpool movie), we get a taste of what’s to come in the showdown between the fabled Dark Knight and the Man of Steel!

Henry Cavill reprises his role as Superman/Clark Kent and Ben Affleck as everybody’s favourite billionaire and detective, Batman/Bruce Wayne with and Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman). The film is directed by Zack Snyder and in  the official synopsis we get a really good sense of what’s to come. Without further yimmer-yammering, I present to you, the final trailer…enjoy.

Official Synopsis Released for the New Batman V. Superman Film

The much-anticipated superhero cross-over film from DC Comics and Warner Bros., Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, has finally released some semblance of a synopsis ahead of its March 25, 2016 debut.

“Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.”

It’s still not enough to go on, but it does make some sense of the Official Teaser Trailer we saw this past April. If I had to make some assumptions as to who this “new threat” is, I’d put it down to two characters. My first guess would be Lex Luthor played by Jesse Eisenberg since his character will appear in the film.

My second guess (and this is a long shot), would be Darkseid (pronounced “Darkside”), one of the most powerful beings in the DC universe. Here’s my final guess and it does make some amount of sense, since this character has been a recurring villain for Batman; I’d have to say Deathstroke might be the new threat. He’s high up there in the world of comic book villains and is also linked to Lex Luthor.

Clearly you can see that DC Comics has told us the film synopsis, but there are still a lot of grey areas and deliberately so. Perhaps the next trailer will give us some more insight. I’m definitely looking forward to the face-off between Batman versus Superman. Even though we all know how that fight will turn out, it’s still worth seeing the live-action interpretation. After all, this is the foundation for The Justice League’s origin story.

The film is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman), Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne/Batman), and Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman).

Batmobile Pursues The Joker and Harley Quinn on the Set of ‘Suicide Squad’

As scenes from the ‘Suicide Squad’ film continue to be shot on Yonge Street in Downtown Toronto, the infamous Batmobile made an appearance. The production team made attempts to keep the Batmobile under wraps, but in an age of smartphones and electronic media that clearly was near to improbable. From the videos captured, the film already looks like it has tremendous potential. I guess we’ll have to wait to see if the Batmobile lost a wheel and whether or not the Joker got away (Hey!). Ben Affleck, who plays both Bruce Wayne and Batman in next year’s superhero film, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, was reported to be nowhere on set last night.

It’s a new age and DC Comics has recognised the importance of connecting each superhero film where practical. There’s nothing the fanboys and fangirls love and enjoy more than a solid comic book crossover. Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), for example, has raked in approximately $8.3 billion (since 2007) at the global box office and have mastered the art of creating successful crossovers. There’s nothing wrong with holding the title of highest-grossing film franchise of all time.

The Suicide Squad, also known as Task Force X, is a name for two fictional organizations in the DC Comics Universe. The upcoming anti-hero film is directed and written by David Ayer, and stars an ensemble cast featuring Jared Leto (The Joker), Will Smith (Floyd Lawton/Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller).
